HUWIB members continue their involvement after graduation, when they join the HUWIB Alumni Network. With over 400 members currently, the HUWIB alumni network will continue to grow stronger as the organization grows over time. There are many opportunities for alumni to stay involved by joining the HUWIB Alumni Board, becoming an HUWIB Class Rep, or an HUWIB City Networking Rep. HUWIB alumni can benefit from networking events in core cities, virtual networking through our exclusive alumni social networking site, and by celebrating the 10th anniversary of HUWIB this year!

Board Bios

Becky Wald, Board President

Becky graduated from Harvard in 2007 from Adams House with an A.B. in Economics and a foreign language citation in French. In addition to her involvement with HUWIB as an undergraduate, she sang with the Radcliffe Choral Society, performed in many plays and musicals through the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club, and was a member of the Crimson Key Society. She contributed to the first-ever study of the effectiveness of NYC Charter Schools as a research assistant for an Economics Professor.

After graduation, Becky moved to NYC and joined American Express as a marketing analyst in OPEN, the Small Business division, where she was selected for an Externship program to consult a local female entrepreneur on marketing strategy. Outside of her current job as a marketing manager in the Consumer Card group, Becky volunteers as a program associate for a non-profit called the All Stars Project, and as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Tiffany Niver, Undergraduate Relations

Tiffany Niver graduated from Harvard in 2008. She concentrated in Psychology and Economics and lived in Adams House. In college, Tiffany served as the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business President, 2006 Internal Events/Recruitment Chair, and 2005 Internal Mentorship Director. Tiffany was also a Founding Member of Smart Woman Securities (SWS), an intercollegiate investment fund. She also sat on three student advisory boards, worked as a Women's Center Intern, served as Forte Foundation's Boston Marketing Intern, and was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She also held two board positions in the Women's Leadership Network and served as President of the Leadership Institute at Harvard College.

Tiffany currently works at the Parthenon Group, a strategy and management consulting firm, where she also worked as a summer intern in 2007. Her prior work experience includes a summer internship at Young & Successful Interactive, a sophomore rotational program at Lehman Brothers New York, and an internship at the Gallup Organization.

Tiffany will attend Harvard Business School in the fall of 2010.

Ebony Carter, Advisory Board

A native of Kansas, Ebony Carter graduated from Harvard in 2007 as an Applied Mathematics and Economics concentrator. While at Harvard, Ebony spent the majority of her time working in a variety of business, educational and mentoring organizations. Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business served as a focal point of her four years at Harvard as Ebony completed the "WIBternship" as a Freshman and later served as the "WIBternship" Director, Internal Events and Recruitment Chair and, lastly, Vice-President. Ebony also committed a great deal of time working closely with the Admissions Office, serving as President of the Undergraduate Admissions Council and as a tour guide to prospective students. In addition, she Co-Founded the Harvard Vestis Council, and worked as an Ec-10 Unit Test Grader, Peer Advising Fellow and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

After graduating Harvard College, Ebony's love of travel and exploring inspired her to go on a four month cruise around the world. She currently works as a financial analyst in General Electric Capital Services' two-year leadership program. In her free time, Ebony loves to travel, mentor, read, make jewelry and watch good movies!

Kim Cheng, Networking Events

Kimberly Cheng graduated from Harvard in 2006 with an A.B. in Economics and was a resident of Kirkland house. As a member of HUWIB, Kimberly served on the Corporate Development Committee which was responsible for establishing the organization's first corporate and alumni mentorship programs. At Harvard, Kimberly was also the captain of The Crimson Dance Team, a member of the Harvard Concert Commission, an Editorial Cartoonist for The Crimson, and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

Kimberly currently works as an investment analyst at Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management covering the Chemicals, Oil & Gas, and Utilities industries. Her prior work experience includes business development and marketing internships at a variety of media and entertainment firms. In her free time, Kimberly mentors through iMentor and HUWIB's alumni mentorship program, captains Nomura's charity bowling team, and enjoys cooking, travel, and dance.

Christina McCalla, Fundraising and Communication

Christina McCalla came to Harvard from Wichita, KS and joined WIB her freshman year. After completing the WIBternship she became a member of the Fundraising Committee and later served as WIB’s first Membership Chair in charge of the Wibternship and internal social events. Christina concentrated in economics but also took an interest in sociology, psychology and social anthropology to understand the role of culture, environment and cognitive factors that also influence decision-making. This interest led her to work at General Mills in brand management where Christina’s responsibilities focused on brand strategy and project execution to support businesses including the K-12 Schools Channel, Chex Cereal and developing new products from concept to launch for the cereal division.

Christina is currently pursuing her MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth with expected graduation in June 2011. Her academic interests include general management, corporate social responsibility, social enterprise and marketing. Christina enjoys being involved in the community, serving as a youth mentor and as a local fundraising leader in Minneapolis for the domestic hunger relief nonprofit, Share our Strength. In her spare time, Christina enjoys yoga and indulging her inner foodie. She loves cooking for friends, trying new restaurants and exploring local farmers markets.

Gena Haugen, 10th Year Anniversary

Gena Haugen graduated from Harvard in 2009 with an A.B. in English. A proud member of Adams House, Gena was involved with Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business as Logistics Director of the 2008 Intercollegiate Business Conference. She sang for four years as a soprano with the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, and spent the majority of her time on its Executive Committee, serving as the group’s Manager in 2007. While in college Gena was an Intern for both the Harvard College Women’s Center and the Office for the Arts, and a Senior Caller for the Harvard College Fund.

After graduation Gena moved to New York City, where she now works in internal strategy consulting with American Express' Strategic Planning Group. Before joining AmEx, she interned with the Executive Strategy & Business group at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Gena is a trustee of the Collegium Musicum alumni board, a member of the Harvard Club of NY Educational Outreach Committee, and a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. In her free time, she continues to sing as a member of the Choral Society of Grace Church.

Gena will attend Harvard Business School in the fall of 2011.

Kristin Meyer


Kristin is a consultant at KPMG in NYC focused on Transaction Services (Integration Advisory, Commercial & Operational Due Diligence, Modeling). Prior to receiving her MBA from Harvard Business School in 2009, she worked in the Investment Bank at J.P. Morgan in NYC. Kristin’s nterests include tennis, squash, hiking, language studies, and mentoring women in pursuing business careers!

Having lived and worked in Singapore, Australia and London over the last six and a half years, I'm now finishing my MBA at London Business School and starting a fashion retail company. I'm moving to New York City in 2011 and looking forward to living state-side again!

Jennifer Philbrick


After Harvard, Jen worked in politics, first for the Democratic National Convention Committee in Boston and the Kerry-Edwards campaign in Florida, then for a democratic political consulting firm in D.C. Eventually she decided to go to law school, attending Columbia and graduating in 2009. Jen is currently clerking for United States District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald in the Southern District of New York and will be joining the litigation department at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York beginning in the fall of 2010.

Kate Szostak


Kate worked on Capitol Hill for four years, mostly recently for the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, before going back to school in New York. She is studying for a joint degree in business and international affairs at Columbia, and spent her summer interning at Pro Mujer, a women's development and microfinance organization.


Ran Li


After graduating Harvard, Ran worked in asset management at Goldman Sachs as well as for the United Nations. She then attended Duke's Fuqua School of Business, during which she interned in brand management at Unilever. Ran joined McKinsey upon graduation from Duke in 2010.

Ipek Mutlu


Post graduation, Ipek worked for Mckinsey & Co's Corporate Finance Practice in their NY office as a Business Analyst, mainly working with financial institutions and industrial clients. In 2007 Ipek joined FTV Capital, a late stage venture and growth equity fund in NY, as an Associate, where she worked on 3 deals and held board observer roles. Ipek will be joining Class of 2012 at Harvard Business School this fall.


Katie Kaplan


Katie is a Senior Associate at G2 Real Estate Partners, focusing on business development and acquisitions. Prior to joining G2, she was an Associate at Lubert-Adler, specializing in acquisitions and asset management where she underwrote and oversaw existing and new investments in the multifamily, self-storage, hotel and office sectors in major markets across the country. Katie was previously an Analyst in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Lehman Brothers, where she was responsible for valuation analysis and structuring for a wide variety of M&A; and capital raising transactions.

Jem Veljic


Jem graduated from Harvard in 2006 and from The Wharton School in 2010. From 2008 to 2010, Jem served on the HUWIB Alumni Board, and she particularly enjoyed her role as Alumni Board President in 2009. This fall, Jem will join a Boston-based strategy consulting firm.


Liz Knopf


Liz started a company, DormAid, during her college years and then headed into venture capital at OpenView Venture Partners. Wanting to get back on the operating side, she left Boston for Silicon Valley and is now doing business development at a startup, SecondMarket, mixing her background in technology and finance.

Tracy Britt


Tracy graduated from Harvard College in 2007 and Harvard Business School in 2009. While at Harvard, she was actively involved in HUWIB and is excited to continue as a 2007 Class Representative. She works at Berkshire Hathaway in Omaha, Nebraska.


Neha Chauhan


Neha is an Investment Banking analyst at JPMorgan, having joined the firm after graduating from Harvard College in 2008. Neha is also the Founder and CEO of Rec Collective, a start-up website for sharing recommendations with friends. In her free time, she enjoys dance, travel, and web design.

Tiffany Niver


After Harvard, Tiffany joined The Parthenon Group where she worked as a generalist consultant across many different industries and practice areas including manufacturing, education, technology, financial services, healthcare, and private equity. Tiffany is currently pursuing an MBA from Harvard Business School and also serving on the HUWIB Alumni Board.


Seema Amble


Seema is currently an analyst in Blackstone's M&A; group in New York. At Harvard, she was a Quincy House resident and concentrated in Economics. In HUWIB, she served as 2009 President, 2008 Fundraising Chair, and on the Outreach committee.

Christy O'Neil


Since graduating ('09, Lowell House), Christy been working in marketing for the financial services industry. She spent a year at First Manhattan Consulting Group in NYC managing the creative development and production of direct mail campaigns for mid-sized retail banks. Christy is currently an Account Manager at EMI Strategic Marketing in Boston, working on direct mail and online marketing campaigns.

Roberta Steele


Roberta is an Analyst in The Blackstone Group's Funds of Hedge Funds Group ("BAAM") where she has been involved in the legal structuring of BAAM's multi-manager portfolios as well as the review and analysis of underlying hedge fund manager investments. Roberta graduated with a degree in Economics and a Secondary Field in Government and was the Outreach Chair for HUWIB in 2008.

Nimi Katragadda


Nimi served as the 2010 Co-President of Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business and formerly held the positions of Business Education Chair and WIBternship Co-Director. She is originally from California, but currently resides in New York City where she works for J.P. Morgan in the Investment Banking division, specifically focused on power and renewable energy. In her free time, she loves to explore restaurants, travel (next on the list is Egypt), and play squash.

Alison Ryu


During her time on campus, she was Co-President of HUWIB with Nimi Katragadda. Alison spent her junior summer at J.P. Morgan in Investment Bank, Consumer/Retail group and now currently works full-time as an analyst in the Corporate Strategy, Business Development & Technology group at The Walt Disney company. In her free time, she enjoys running, watching television, and baking cookies.
