The Alumni Board works to deliver professional resources to the HUWIB community after graduation – take a look at what we accomplished in 2012:

Undergraduate Relations

  • Planned the first joint undergraduate & alumni on-campus programming event: a “Power Up Your Brand” workshop and networking exercise with Sandy Lish, Principal & Co-Founder of the The Castle Group
  • Continued the Summer Mentorship Program that connects HUWIB undergraduates and HUWIB alumni at their companies (10+ successful matches)
  • Involved 30+ HUWIB alumni as Corporate Mentors
  • Had 20+ HUWIB alumni attend IBC. This year, alumni participated in panels and ran a cycle of mock interview/resume review preparation for undergraduates
  • Provided support to HUWIB associates by conducting recruiting season resume reviews as well as speakers for In Focus sessions
  • Worked with undergraduates to engaged advisory board members to have the first in-person events: a dinner with the CEO of Citizens Group, Ellen Alemany and an “Inside Rent the Runway” event with CEO Jenn Hyman
  • Welcomed a new advisory board member, Professor David Ager, and co-hosted a successful strategy retreat with the Advisory Board in the Fall

Alumni Programming

  • Built a relationship with Forbes, providing HUWIB alumni with the opportunity to be published on the Forbes blog
  • Facilitated the publication of a handful of successful posts on the Forbes blog, including Seema Amble’s which has had almost 3000 views!
  • Secured 3 free months of Ivy Exec membership and access to an exclusive webinar on negotiation for HUWIB alumni
  • Directed the MBA Mini-Mentorship Program, which paired alumni mentors and mentees for the business school application process
  • Negotiated a free MBA admissions consultation with Betsy Massar for HUWIB alumni

Alumni Communications

  • Launched new HUWIB Alumni website, alumni.huwib.org
  • Streamlined the alumni newsletter and enabled response tracking
  • Appointed 4 new City Reps to represent San Francisco
  • Coordinated several events with City Reps in four cities
