Recap: March Personal Branding Workshop

On March 22, almost 40 undergraduates and alumni gathered at Harvard for Get Savvy: Power Up Your Personal Brand, a speaker-led workshop and networking reception. The event was co-hosted by HUWIB and HUWIB Alumni, in collaboration with HBS’ WSA.  Speaker Sandy Lish, Principal and Founder of The Castle Group, helped attendees understand simple ways to make the most of their strengths to create business opportunities, sharing: Practical techniques for evaluating and enhancing your personal brand Ways to use third-party creditability to promote your brand Steps to conduct successful networking at events and build a strong personal network Attendees put their newly-acquired personal branding and networking knowledge to the test during an informal reception to round out the evening. Thanks to all who attended, and a special thank you to Sandy Lish!

Alumni Spotlight: Neha Chauhan, CFO, DANNIJO

What does your job entail? I am the CFO of DANNIJO, a luxury jewelry company based in New York. In this role, I manage the business strategy and finances of the company as well as oversee the e-commerce division. What is your favorite thing about what you do? My favorite aspect of the job is working on a product that I believe in completely. DANNIJO speaks to a range of fashion personalities and seeing women individualize each piece is inspiring. What does a typical day look like? Working at a small company, I get to see every side of the business from start to finish: design, production, public relations, sales, and shipping. The fashion industry is extremely fast moving, not just season to season but day to day, and it’s important to keep up to date on trends, collaborations, and start-ups in the industry. Recap: 2012 HBS Dynamic Women in Business Conference

On Saturday, February 25th, over 1,100 women came together for this year’s (sold out!) Dynamic Women in Business Conference, hosted by Harvard Business School’s Women’s Student Association (WSA). Students, alumni, faculty, distinguished business leaders, and community members gathered to partake in this powerful forum for women to learn from, share with and inspire one another, as well as to explore the opportunities and challenges that women encounter in today’s business world.
