Lauren is currently a sophomore in Cabot House concentrating in economics and pursuing a secondary in government. As the Fundraising Chair, Lauren leads a dynamic committee that partners with HUWIB’s generous sponsors in order to ensure that all of HUWIB’s inspiring programming, from the Intercollegiate Business Convention to the annual outreach trips, can reach their goal of further empowering women in the field of business. On campus, Lauren is also actively involved in Smart Woman Securities and Harvard China Care. Last summer, Lauren explored a career in television media as an intern at China Central Television in Beijing, and this spring, Lauren will be interning in research at Goldman Sachs to further her interest in the financial services industry. Originally from South Brunswick, New Jersey, Lauren was a varsity swimmer in high school and loves swimming, yoga, and scenic jogs by the Charles River.

Alexa Rahman, Chair

Alexa Rahman is a junior in Quincy House. She is a history concentrator also pursuing a secondary field in economics and a language citation in Arabic. Alexa is currently the Outreach Chair of HUWIB and previously served as Treasurer/Secretary on the 2010 Executive Board and the 2009 Philanthropic Director on the Business Education Committee. On campus, Alexa has worked as treasurer for the Harvard Islamic Society, treasurer for the Quincy House Committee, and Co-Chair of the Student Advisory Committee for the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations. She is very interested in exploring finance and social entrepreneurship and merging her interests in business and community empowerment. Last summer she worked as co-Manager for the Cronin Center for Enterprise at Harvard Student Agencies and looks forward to moving to New York City this upcoming summer to complete an internship in investment banking with J.P. Morgan. Outside of school she enjoys spending time in her hometown of Weston, Massachusetts, reading poetry, and hiking with her family.
