Thank you to all Social Enterprise Business Plan Competition Applicants. Priya Haji is selecting the winner, runner-up, and second runner-up. Please look forward to hearing from the winner at IBC this Saturday!
Competition Guidelines
Social entrepreneurship is changing the nature of modern business. Thus, as a prelude to the 5th Annual Intercollegiate Business Convention (IBC), Harvard University Women in Business (HUWIB) is launching its first Social Enterprise Business Plan Competition. The winner will have the opportunity to present her idea at the Convention, gain exposure through IBC promotional materials and other media outlets, and receive coaching in a private conference with Convention keynote, Priya Haji, co-founder of World of Good by eBay. All competition participants will win access to an exclusive networking event with company recruiters on November 7th. The only pre-requisites are registration at IBC and the submission of this completed Competition application, which includes a business plan template, to HUWIB.IBC2009.sebpc@gmail.com by October 25th. We welcome Competition applications from individuals or teams with up to three members. All competition participants must be female undergraduates.
Competition Criteria
As defined by Harvard Business School Professor Jane C. Wei-Skillern, social entrepreneurship is “innovative, social value-creating activity that can occur within or across the nonprofit, government, or business sectors.”1 Submissions will be judged by Priya Haji on the originality of ideas and the clarity of presentation. Business plan ideas do not necessarily have to address women’s issues.
